Purrfect For Pets

We LOVE our pets. They will be here for a long time and they deserve our best care and attention. We humans get better food than our animal companions. Adequate nutrition is missing, even in the best dog food. Therefore, it is our responsibility to supplement the rest. The fatty acids and omegas are really important to our furry friends because, well the fur for example. Regular dog food does not contain enough oils for dogs.

Omega-3 and Omega-6 deficiency can lead to dog dandruff, dog losing hair, arthritis in dogs, auto-immune disorders, atopic dermatitis, different allergies, heart problems, steatosis, kidney diseases, ligament issues, cancer, stroke and impaired vision. That list is just the beginning of scientifically proved issues with dog nutrition. Not to worry, there are several different signs of fatty acid deficiency in the health of your dog that indicate when it isn’t getting proper amounts of essential fatty acids and oils from food sources.

There is no single “dog symptom checker”, however, the most common signs of fatty acid deficiency are:

  • Dog dandruff

  • Coat issues, dog losing hair, thin or greasy hair

  • Obesity

  • Allergy symptoms, itching, and eczema

  • Dry, scaly, flaky skin

  • Slow wound healing

  • Infections in the ear

  • Inflammatory diseases

PUMPKIN SEED OIL

Pumpkin seeds are mini-powerhouses of nutrition. They are a very valuable source of zinc, which is concentrated in the very thin layer found underneath the shell, called the endosperm envelope. The seeds also contain vitamin E, including alpha-tocopherol, gamma-tocopherol, delta-tocopherol, alphatocomonoenol and gamma-tocomonoenol. In addition, they are incredibly rich in manganese, phenolic antioxidants and antioxidant phytonutrients like lignans, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, and iron.

Pumpkin seed extract and oil have been found to have anti-microbial, anti-fungal, and anti-viral properties. Cooked pumpkin is a good remedy for intestinal worms. However, the seeds are found to be significantly more effective than the flesh. The seeds are not commonly allergenic and do not contain measurable levels of oxalates.

Preliminary studies have demonstrated that pumpkin seed extract and pumpkin seed oil improve insulin regulation in diabetic animals, and support kidney function. A decrease in oxidative stress is observed as well.

Pumpkin seed oil is a natural anti-inflammatory and anti-parasitic and also supports heart health, mobility, and urinary tract health.

By incorporating Pumpkin Seed Oil, you can harness the power of pumpkin for your dog or cat!

“In addition to taking this oil myself, I administer it to my horses, Fabian and Cash as well. Pumpkin seed oil has a reputation for being able to combat worms and parasites. Typically, horses have issues with parasites and worms. This requires vaccinations and deworming twice per year. For the 3 ½ years that I have had Fabian, and the 2 ½ years that I have owned Cash, I have never vaccinated or dewormed either one of them. Feeding my oils along with fresh fruits, vegetables, and quality hay, they have never had worms. Andreas Pumpkin Seed Oil offers great taste, health benefits, and nutrition. I am very happy to be able to offer this product.”

HEMP SEED OIL

The best of all oils over the fish or flaxseed-based oils.

It is dubbed “Nature’s best omega oil” due to the undeniable fact that it includes the perfect ratio of Omega 6 (LA) to Omega 3 (ALA/LNA) 3:1. These are important fatty acids, your dog needs.

Andreas Hemp Seed Oil is considered one of the most nutritious oils available. It is easily digestible in its raw state. Unlike fish oil, hemp seed oil contains the perfect ratio of Omega-6 (linoleic acid) to Omega-3 (alpha linolenic acid) fatty acids. These are essential fatty acids, meaning your dog can’t produce them and needs to get them in his diet.  For this reason, a good balance of these Omega oils is critical to your dog’s health because they work synergistically in the body.

Omega fatty acids are highly beneficial for dogs. Those with skin and coat conditions can benefit tremendously. Dry skin, allergies, and excessive shedding, just to name a few!
A teaspoon a day for a large dog and half a teaspoon for a smaller dog would be sufficient.

More and more people choose to cook for their beloved furry friends but never add hemp seed oil to your dog’s food while cooking. Cooking can cause the oil to become rancid and result in health issues.

If your dog is eating a poultry-based diet, adding hemp seed oil may cause an imbalance because chicken is already high in polyunsaturated fats and linoleic acid. In that case, flaxseed oil is the better choice for chicken-based diets.

Cannabis sativa actually means“useful hemp” in Latin. We invite you to add Andreas Hemp Seed Oil to your dog’s diet and see the difference it can make.

It is important to know that Hemp seed oil does not contain THC and there is no need for concern.
