The body needs omega-3 fatty acids from your diet. Our bodies don't produce it from other foods.
Numerous health benefits, such as a reduced risk of heart disease, reduced inflammation, and improved mood have been discovered in many scientific studies.
When most people think of Omega-3 fatty acids, they think of seafood. It's most commonly thought to come from the oil extracted from fatty fish, such as herring, mackerel, or tuna.
But what if you don’t like fish, or it’s too expensive where you live?
You can also consider adding our Flaxseed Oil to your diet.
The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends eating fatty fish at least twice a week… and that’s because these have the highest omega-3 content.
Here’s where it gets interesting though.
Fish contain omega-3’s called EPA & DHA and typically have around 200-500mg per serving. While flaxseed oil contains omega-3’s in the form of ALA.
The required minimum intake our body needs is around 1.1g of ALA for women, and 1.6g per day for men.
Just one tablespoon of flaxseed oil contains an amazing 7.3g of ALA!
These days, fish are one of the highest sources of mercury and other contaminants found in the ocean. Some types of fish are produced in off-shore farms with questionable practices.
It makes sense you may not want to eat more fish…
But if you want to help protect your heart, reduce inflammation, lower cholesterol levels and nourish your skin, you need omega-3s.
Heart problems are the leading cause of death globally, so anything you can do to help support your heart is a good idea.
That’s why I eat this flaxseed oil.
Unlike the types found in stores, it’s stored in a protective glass that protects it from sunlight. It’s also pressed without heat, grinding or chemical extractions.
